Our Journey in Dance

Founded by Ms. Chaitali Biswas, Prabahika Fine Arts Institute nurtures classical dance and art with heart and tradition. Mrs. Chaitali Biswas, a native of Lucknow, has nurtured a lifelong passion for classical dance and singing. She received formal training in Kathak of the Lucknow Gharana from below mentioned Guru at Bhatkhande University, Lucknow, and completed her Post Graduation in Kathak from there.

Since relocating to Newtown in 2006, Ms Chaitali founded Prabahika Fine Arts Institute in 2017, focusing primarily in Kathak dance of the Lucknow Gharana for girl students. Over time, the institute expanded its curriculum to include Rabindra Sangeet Nritya, folk, and contemporary dance forms, accommodating a growing student body. Responding to increasing demand, classes in drawing and Folk songs and Rabindra Sangeet were also introduced for the students.

Prabahika Fine Arts Institute is registered under the Sarba Bharatiya Sangeet-O-Sanskriti Parishad, Kolkata. The institution delivers comprehensive education and training in dance and drawing aligned with prescribed curricula, and conducts annual examinations assessed by external examiners appointed by the Parishad. Successful candidates receive certification from Sarba Bharatiya Sangeet-O-Sanskriti Parishad.

Additionally, music teaching classes of Folk songs and Rabindra Sangeet are also conducted at the institute.

The institute holds its annual day each year at the Rabindratirtha Auditorium, New Town, where students are hounored with awards and mementos for their performances. In celebration of its growth, the Institute will mark its 10th Annual Day Function on 3rd October 2026 at Rabindratirtha Auditorium, Newtown, Kolkata.
